The Playa Romana Park complex in Alcossebre is one of the accommodations with the most reviews in the town. It appears on the portals as Kione Playa Romana, Kione Playa Romana Park or, in old listings, Apartamentos Playa Romana Park. This page is informative and independent: we are not its official website and we do not handle its bookings. Here we gather its location, its features and an analysis of the ratings from six portals, which in this case differ greatly from one another.
Where Playa Romana Park is
The complex is at Carrer del Canaret, 9, in the Romana beach area, south of the centre of Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón). Guests put the beach a few minutes on foot away.

Romana beach is about 500 metres long and 40 wide, with fine sand, and is accessible. It has a Blue Flag and is linked to Cargador beach by the Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway by the sea. According to Alcossebre's official tourism office, it has a children's area or activities. In the area there is also a tourist information point, the Tourist Info Alcossebre-Romana.
Further south are El Moro beach (300 metres of sand between rocks, with a Blue Flag, lifeguards and showers) and Tres Platges, three small linked coves of sand and pebbles.
Advantages of the area: a fine-sand Blue Flag beach a stroll away, a residential, family atmosphere and a seaside walk to Cargador.
To get to the centre, the Senda Litoral leads along the sea to Cargador beach and the seafront promenade.
What the Playa Romana Park complex is like
Playa Romana Park is a gated complex of 116 units spread over numbered blocks 1 to 7. According to the listings and reviews, it offers:
- Pools (the listings mention two and some guests three) and a jacuzzi.
- Generous shared areas with lawn.
- A restaurant and bar.
- Entertainment.
- Reception and a laundry.
- Wifi.
- Pets accepted, and several guests highlight that they are welcomed with extras.

There are standard and superior apartments. According to reviews, the superior ones are renovated and have air conditioning, while the standard ones are older, with older furniture and sofa beds. That difference in quality between units is one of the themes that comes up most, so it is worth paying close attention to the category you book.
What guests say about Playa Romana Park
These are the public scores on each portal:
7.9/10 weighted average across booking sites · 3724 reviews
| Website | Score | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Booking.com | 7.9/10 | 2212 |
| 4.0/5 | 1330 | |
| Tripadvisor | 3.1/5 | 95 |
| Expedia | 8.6/10 | 53 |
| Central de Reservas | 8.3/10 | 32 |
| Atrápalo | 7.7/10 | 2 |
Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
The most striking thing about this table is the strong divergence between portals:
- Booking (7.9 from 2,212 reviews) and Expedia (8.6 from 53) are clearly positive.
- Google (4.0 out of 5 from 1,330 reviews) sits in a middle zone. On Google there are also complaints from owners about the key handover, which have nothing to do with guests' stays.
- TripAdvisor (3.1 out of 5 from 95) is much more critical, with low sub-scores for value for money (2.9) and rooms (3.1). There is also an old TripAdvisor listing, "Apartamentos Playa Romana Park", with 3.4 and 45 reviews, which is not included in the sum.
- Central de Reservas (8.3 from 32) is favourable and Atrápalo (7.7) has only two reviews; another Atrápalo listing has a single review with a 5.3.
A reasonable explanation for these differences is the heterogeneity of the complex: with 116 apartments of different categories, the experience changes a lot depending on the unit and the season. The weighted average (7.9) is dominated by Booking, which is also the portal with the most reviews.
What guests like most
On Booking, the highest sub-scores are location (9.0), staff (8.5) and wifi (8.5). Guests highlight:
- Being next to Romana beach, a few minutes on foot.
- The pools with a jacuzzi and the generous shared areas.
- A gated, family-friendly and quiet complex.
- That it accepts pets and welcomes them with extras.
- The friendly staff.
- The renovated superior apartments, with air conditioning.
What could be improved
On Booking, the lowest sub-scores are comfort (7.5) and cleanliness (7.6). Some guests point out:
- Dated standard apartments (furniture, sofa bed).
- Uneven cleaning and maintenance: smells, insects or drains, in some cases.
- Late check-in, early check-out and unclear reception hours.
- Uncomfortable beds and pillows.
- Occasional pool closures for hygiene reasons in the height of summer and little shade on the lawn.
- A big difference in quality between units.
The profile of those who review is families with children, couples and travellers with a pet, mostly Spanish, with some British.

What to check before choosing Playa Romana Park
With a complex of this size and such mixed reviews, these checks will help you get it right:
- The apartment category. The most positive reviews tend to talk about the renovated superior apartments; the most critical, about the standard ones.
- Air conditioning. According to reviews, it is in the superior apartments; if you are travelling in July or August, confirm that the unit has it.
- Check-in, check-out and reception hours, because several guests found them unclear or inflexible.
- The conditions for pets, if you are travelling with yours.
- Recent reviews on the portal where you will book, as the experience changes with the season and the unit.
Casa Azahar alternatives near Playa Romana Park
Casa Azahar manages two buildings in the same Romana beach area:
- Casablanca Residence: on the very front line of Romana beach, with palm trees, domes, sea views and a seasonal pool. Two-bedroom apartments (4 to 6 people) and three-bedroom ones (5 to 7). See Casablanca Residence.
- Nova Romana Apartments: in the Romana beach area, with a garden and a pool for adults and children. One-bedroom apartments for 4 people and three-bedroom ones for 6. See Nova Romana Apartments.
An important point if you are travelling with a dog: no Casa Azahar building accepts pets, so these alternatives are no use if you are travelling with animals.
