Residencial Cala Josep in Alcossebre, also advertised as the Cala Josep development or apartments, is a group of homes right on the seafront at Camí de l'Atall, 62, in the Cargador and town centre area. The agencies that market it describe it as having a seasonal pool and garages.
The apartments belong to different owners, and some are rented seasonally through local agencies such as Albert Villas or Marejada. Casa Azahar does not manage apartments in Cala Josep or offer bookings there: this page is informational and independent.
Where Cala Josep in Alcocéber is
Cala Josep is on Camí de l'Atall, the road that runs along the coast next to the seafront promenade, near Cargador beach. Cargador beach has about 850 metres of fine sand, protected dunes and a Blue Flag since 1987, including 2026. From here you can walk to the town centre and, along the Senda Litoral, to Romana beach.
What the complex is like
According to the listings and reviews, Cala Josep has:
- A pool in the middle of the complex, seasonal, on the way to the beach.
- Garages, included in the rental for some homes.
- Spacious terraces in some of the apartments.
Guests describe the residence itself as well kept. No lift is mentioned in the sources consulted.
Ratings: a single apartment, not the complex
The complex's Google listing has no reviews. On Booking there is one specific apartment in the complex, with a 5.2 out of 10 from 11 reviews in October 2026. That score reflects that flat and how it is managed, not Cala Josep as a whole. In its reviews, location scores 9.0 and the pool, garage and terrace are appreciated; the criticism centres on the maintenance and equipment of that home: doors and windows that do not close properly, scant kitchenware and no mosquito screens. Another unit advertised on Booking could not be checked.

Surroundings and things to do
- Seafront promenade and Senda Litoral: from Cargador to Romana beach along the wooden walkway, and north to Las Fuentes and the marina.
- Alcossebre town centre: restaurants and shops a short distance away.
- Serra d'Irta Natural Park: north of the town, with route 2 from Cala Blanca (12.8 km, low difficulty).
How to get there
- By car: AP-7, exit 44 (Alcossebre-Torreblanca), or N-340 and CV-142 to Alcossebre; then head to the seafront promenade and Camí de l'Atall.
- By train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away.
- By plane: Castellón airport about 22 km away and Valencia about 123 km.
