For a house without air conditioning, June and September are a good choice: the sea is still warm, the beach is less crowded and temperatures are milder.
Around Casa Inocencia and things to do
Beaches. Cargador beach, Alcossebre's main one, measures about 850 by 70 metres, has fine sand, is fully accessible and has had a Blue Flag every year since 1987, with a sailing club and paddle surf hire. The Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway, links it with Romana beach, 500 metres long and also Blue Flag. Further south are El Moro and Manyetes, and to the north, Les Fonts beach, with freshwater springs rising in the sand.
In town. The seafront promenade, the Tuesday evening market in season and the Tourist Info office in Plaza Vistalegre are a short distance away. Local food revolves around rice dishes, suquet de peix and the tomata de penjar from Alcalà de Xivert.
Sierra de Irta. The Serra d'Irta Natural Park begins north of the town. From Cala Blanca and the lighthouse, route 2 (12.8 km, easy) and the red route (8.5 km) set off, and the Ruta del Cranc follows the coastal track by bike to Peñíscola. In summer, to drive onto the park's coast you must book a space in the GVA Parcs Naturals app.

Via the AP-7, exit 44 (Alcossebre-Torreblanca), or via the N-340 and CV-142 to Alcossebre. Approximate distances: Castellón, about 50 km; Valencia, about 120 km; Zaragoza, about 255 km; Madrid, about 465 km. The nearest airports are Castellón (about 22 km), Valencia (about 123 km), Reus (about 145 km) and Barcelona (about 230 km). By train, Alcalà de Xivert station is about 10 km away.
