The Fuente Sol apartments in Alcossebre are a complex of studios and one-bedroom apartments in the Las Fuentes area, near the marina and Las Fuentes beach. They are managed by Casa Azahar, the town's local agency, and on the portals they also appear as Fuentesol or Aptos Fuente Sol. Their calling card is simple: a quiet area, a pool with a garden and a tennis court, a few minutes from the beach.

Where the Fuente Sol apartments are
The Fuente Sol complex is in Las Fuentes, the northern part of the urban centre of Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón), near the Las Fuentes marina and with the Sierra de Irta a short distance away.

The reference beach is Las Fuentes beach (Les Fonts): fine sand, about 400 m long and 40 m wide, with the particularity that freshwater springs rise from the sand. It has lifeguards, toilets, showers, foot showers, ramps, a children's area and equipment hire. Guests describe the surroundings of the complex as very quiet.
Advantages of the area:
- A residential atmosphere, quieter than the centre.
- The marina, promenade and Las Fuentes beach nearby.
- Quick access to the Sierra de Irta, the lighthouse and Cala Blanca.
- Parking next to the complex, according to reviews.
Drawbacks:
- It is not on the front line: you have to walk a little to reach the sand.
- The centre and Cargador beach are further away than from the town centre.

What the Fuente Sol complex is like
Fuente Sol is a block of apartments with shared areas. According to the Casa Azahar listing and the portal reviews, it has:
- A seasonal pool and a children's pool with jets, surrounded by well-kept gardens.
- A tennis court and a ping-pong table.
- Parking next to the complex.
- Wifi, with a sub-score of 8.3 on Booking.
- A terrace, and views from some apartments.
The apartments are studios and one-bedroom units, so they are designed for couples, solo travellers and small families. A warning that comes up repeatedly in reviews: the complex has a lot of stairs and accessibility is limited. If you are travelling with a pushchair or with people with reduced mobility, ask before booking.

| 4.5/5 | 65 | |

Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
Fuente Sol's weighted average score is 8.2 out of 10 from 135 reviews, almost all from Booking (7.5/10, 67 reviews) and Google (4.5/5, 65 reviews). The Booking listing is the Casa Azahar one.
A clarification about TripAdvisor: its score (3.3/5) is based on only three reviews, written between 2015 and 2018, so it says little about the current state of the complex. The other TripAdvisor listing (Fuente Sol) has no reviews, and the Central de Reservas one exists but shows no ratings.
What guests like most. The highest Booking sub-scores are location and staff (8.4 each), followed by cleanliness and wifi (8.3). Guests repeat several ideas:
- The area is very quiet and Las Fuentes beach is close.
- The pool is large, the children's pool has jets and the gardens are well kept.
- The key-handover, cleaning and maintenance staff solve problems quickly.
- The apartments are handed over clean.
- You can park next to the complex, and some apartments have views.
What is criticised. The lowest scores are for facilities (7.3) and value for money (7.4). Some guests point out that:
- the studios are smaller than they look in the photos;
- sofas, furniture and kitchen doors are worn;
- minor breakdowns appear (shower, TV, hob, fridge), which the maintenance team usually fixes;
- there are a lot of stairs;
- soap and other basics are not included and kitchenware is limited.
Overall, Fuente Sol is a simple, well-located complex that wins people over with its surroundings, the pool and the service, while the criticisms point to the furniture and the size of the studios.
Our assessment
Strengths
- A quiet part of Las Fuentes, near the marina and the beach.
- Pool, children's pool, garden, tennis and ping-pong: more activities than in many blocks in the area.
- Well-rated maintenance and cleaning staff.
- Parking next to the complex.
Weaknesses
- Small studios.
- Furniture that needs renovating in some units.
- A lot of stairs and limited accessibility.
Who it is ideal for
- Couples and solo travellers looking for a practical, quiet studio.
- Small families with children who enjoy the children's pool and the tennis court.
- Active travellers who want the Sierra de Irta close at hand for walking or cycling.
- Less recommended for large groups (there are no multi-bedroom apartments) or for people with mobility problems.
No Casa Azahar building accepts pets, and Fuente Sol is no exception.

Tips before booking at Fuente Sol
- Choose carefully between a studio and a one-bedroom. If more than two of you are travelling, the one-bedroom apartment gives more room than the studio.
- Ask for an apartment with views if it matters to you; only some have them.
- Bring the basics for the first day (soap, toilet paper, cleaning products), because they are not included.
- Ask about the floor and access if stairs could be a problem.
- Pick up the keys at the Casa Azahar office, at Avenida de Las Fuentes, 11.
What to do near Fuente Sol
Las Fuentes beach and the marina (about 283 berths and home of the Alcossebre Sailing Club) are the most immediate plan. From the marina, sailing, kayaking, paddle surfing, diving and boat trips set off, some to the Columbretes Islands.
Following the seafront promenade south you reach Cargador beach, Alcocéber's main one: 850 m of fine sand, accessible and with a Blue Flag every year since 1987. Beyond it, the Senda Litoral links it with Romana beach.
To the north is the Serra d'Irta Natural Park, with about 12 km of unspoilt coastline as far as Peñíscola:
- Route 2 on foot (Faro d'Irta - Cala Cubanita - Font de la Parra): 12.8 km, easy, from Cala Blanca.
- Red route "A landscape of contrasts": 8.5 km loop, easy, from the lighthouse.
- Ruta del Cranc by bike: the Alcossebre-Peñíscola coastal track, 13.2 km and easy.
Bear in mind that in summer, to drive onto the park's coast, you must book a space in the GVA Parcs Naturals app. The park's coves have no lifeguards or services; with children, the town beaches are better.
For a different day: the Tuesday market on Camí l'Atall (May to October), the 68 m bell tower of Alcalà de Xivert, about 9 km away, or a trip to Peñíscola, about 32 km by road.
How to get there
Alcossebre is next to the AP-7 (exit 44, Alcossebre-Torreblanca) and the N-340, from which the CV-142 leads to the town. Once in Alcossebre, follow signs to the marina and the Las Fuentes area.
- Airports: Castellón (about 22 km, about 25 min), Valencia (about 123 km, approx. 1 h 30 min), Reus (about 145 km) and Barcelona (about 230 km).
- Train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away.
- By car: from Zaragoza, about 255 km; from Madrid, about 465 km. More details in how to drive to Alcocéber.
