Where it is: Las Fuentes
Las Fuentes is the northern area of Alcossebre, next to the marina. It is an area of holiday apartments, with a seafront promenade and a quieter atmosphere than the centre.
Les Fonts / Las Fuentes beach is the reference beach:
- About 400 × 40 m of fine sand, north of the marina.
- Freshwater springs, from an ancient aquifer, bubble up in the sand.
- Lifeguards, toilets, showers, ramps, a children's area and equipment hire.
Along the promenade you reach Cargador beach, the main one in the village, with a Blue Flag without interruption since 1987.
What is nearby
- Las Fuentes marina: about 283 moorings and home of the Alcossebre Sailing Club, with a sailing school.
- Boat trips, also to the Columbretes Islands, and activities such as diving, kayak and paddle surf.
- Alcossebre lighthouse and Cala Blanca, to the north, where the Serra d'Irta Natural Park routes begin, such as route 2 (12.8 km, easy) to the Font de la Parra.
- Alcossebre centre and Plaza Vista Alegre, to the south.
How to get to Monte y Mar
- By car: AP-7, exit 44 (Alcossebre-Torreblanca), or N-340 and CV-142 to Alcossebre; then towards Las Fuentes and the marina.
- Approximate distances: Castellón, about 50 km; Valencia, about 120 km; Zaragoza, about 255 km; Madrid, about 465 km.
- Airports: Castellón (about 22 km), Valencia (about 123 km), Reus (about 145 km) and Barcelona (about 230 km).
- By train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away.
