The Montemar estate in Alcossebre, also called Residencial Montemar, is a housing area located in the inland part of the village, away from the seafront and closer to the slopes of the Serra d'Irta. On OpenStreetMap it appears as two estates, Montemar I and Montemar II.
This is an independent informational page with what is on record about the estate and its surroundings.
Where the Montemar estate is
Montemar is among the inland estates of Alcossebre, west of the old town and the beaches. It is a quiet residential area, with streets of homes, without the bustle of the seafront promenade.

Its best-known reference is calle Oliveres, where route 5 of the Serra d'Irta Natural Park begins: the climb to the hermitage of Santa Llúcia i Sant Benet. The route is 1.3 km, medium difficulty and takes about 45 minutes.
The hermitage, at 312 metres above sea level and in the municipality of Alcalà de Xivert, is baroque, from the late 17th century, and receives a pilgrimage every 13 December. From the hermitage also starts route 7, "Por las crestas", of 16.4 km and hard difficulty, which crosses the range to the hermitage of Sant Antoni, in Peñíscola.
What the estate is like
Montemar is an estate with apartments and townhouses. It is not a tourist complex with reception or known communal services, and there is no record that it has a communal pool or other facilities.
Tourist rental offer: at the date of consultation (October 2026), there is no listing for the complex with ratings on Google, Booking or other portals. On Booking only some individual units appear, advertised by their owners, and Google Maps shows Montemar I only as an address.
