The Arcos I apartments in Alcossebre are one of the complexes in the Las Fuentes area with the longest history in holiday rentals. They also appear on the portals as "Arcos 1" or "Arcos de Las Fuentes", and Casa Azahar markets some of the units separately under the name Arcos I Superior. On this page we gather what the public listings and guest reviews say, with the location, the facilities and our own assessment.

Where are the Arcos I apartments
Arcos I is in the Las Fuentes area, north of the urban centre of Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón), about 185 metres from Las Fuentes beach (Les Fonts). It is a fine-sand beach about 400 metres long next to the marina, with a curiosity that sets it apart: freshwater springs rise from the sand itself, coming from an old underground aquifer. In season it has lifeguards, toilets, showers, ramps, a children's area and equipment hire.
What those who stay here highlight most is that everything is close on foot:
- A supermarket about 50 metres from the building, according to the Casa Azahar listing.
- Taberna Pikapote, which the Casa Azahar listing cites among the complex's features.
- Las Fuentes marina, with the Club de Vela Alcossebre, a short walk away.
- Shops, bars and restaurants in the Las Fuentes area, and the town centre a short distance away.
Advantages of the area: a quiet beach by the marina, a family atmosphere and basic services without taking the car.
Drawbacks: the building is on a slope, so there are stairs to reach some units, and several guests say that street parking is hard to find in high season. Some street-facing units notice the night-time noise from nearby bars.
What the Arcos I complex is like
Arcos I is an apartment block with landscaped shared areas. According to the Casa Azahar listing and the published reviews, it has:
- An adult pool and a children's pool, the most appreciated feature of the complex by guests.
- Mini golf within the grounds, an extra that is welcome with children.
- A garden in the shared areas.
- Wifi, according to the services mentioned in reviews.

As for the apartments, there are studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, with a maximum capacity of 6 people. All have an equipped kitchen and many have a sofa bed. Some units have sea views from the terrace; others do not, so if views matter to you it is worth checking the specific listing before booking.
The air conditioning is partial: according to several reviews, in many units it is only in the living room and not in the bedrooms. It is worth bearing in mind in July and August.
Arcos I and Arcos I Superior
Casa Azahar has two listings on its website: Arcos I and Arcos I Superior. It is the same complex, but the second groups units of a higher category. If you are looking for a better-kept apartment within the same building, also see the Arcos I Superior listing at Casa Azahar.
What guests think of Arcos I
These are the public ratings of Arcos I on each portal:
6.9/10 weighted average across booking sites · 99 reviews
| Website | Score | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Booking.com | 7.4/10 | 78 |
| Atrápalo | 3.6/10 | 4 |
| Central de Reservas | 5.6/10 | 17 |
Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
There is an important nuance for reading this table properly. The reliable rating is Booking's (7.4 out of 10 from 78 reviews), which corresponds to the current Casa Azahar listing. The Atrápalo ("Apartamentos Arcos Las Fuentes") and Central de Reservas ("Arcos de Las Fuentes 3000") listings have few reviews, in the case of Central de Reservas dated 2017 and 2018, and some mention an associated hotel. They may correspond to another operator or even to another building with a similar name, so their low ratings (3.6 and 5.6) should not weigh the same as Booking's. TripAdvisor has a listing for the complex, but still with no reviews, and Google has no listing for the building with its own reviews.
What guests like most
On Booking, the highest sub-scores are staff (8.4) and location (8.3). The positive comments revolve around four ideas:
- Closeness. The beach, shops and centre are a few minutes' walk away, and it is the main reason many come back.
- The pool, which is the most appreciated feature of the complex, with an adult area and one for children.
- The quiet, family atmosphere at night inside the grounds.
- The views from some units and the correct attitude of the agency staff.
What could be improved
The lowest sub-scores on Booking are value for money (6.9) and facilities (7.1). The criticisms that recur most are:
- Air conditioning only in the living room, not in the bedrooms.
- Uncomfortable or old mattresses, single beds and sofa beds.
- Many stairs because of the slope and difficult street parking.
- Night-time noise from the street and bars in some units.
- Scarce kitchenware and old-fashioned furniture in some of the apartments.
The profile of those who review on Booking is mostly families and solo travellers, mainly Spanish.
Our assessment of Arcos I
Arcos I is a complex with a practical location and attractive shared areas, with uneven interiors. With the data in hand, this is our summary:
Strengths
- About 185 metres from a quiet sandy beach, with a supermarket 50 metres away.
- Adult and children's pool and mini golf: entertainment for children without leaving the grounds.
- A variety of sizes, from a studio for two to a two-bedroom apartment for six.
- Good rating for the staff.
Weaknesses
- Partial air conditioning in many units.
- Beds and furniture that could be better in some apartments.
- Stairs and difficult parking: not the best option for guests with reduced mobility.
Who it is ideal for
- Families with children who want a pool, mini golf and the beach a short walk away.
- Couples or solo travellers looking for a well-located studio to get around on foot.
- Anyone who prioritises location and shared areas over a renovated interior.
Less recommended for anyone who needs air conditioning in every room or has difficulty with stairs. Remember that, like all Casa Azahar buildings, Arcos I does not allow pets.

Tips for choosing an apartment in Arcos I
- For two people, a studio is enough and is usually the most economical option; for families of four to six, look for the one- or two-bedroom apartments.
- If you want sea views, check the unit's listing, because not all have them.
- If you travel in high summer, bear in mind that in many units the air conditioning is only in the living room.
- If you are a light sleeper, ask for a unit that does not face the street to avoid the noise from the bars.
- If you come by car, expect that parking nearby may be hard in high season, and that there are stairs to some units.
