The El Centro apartments in Alcossebre are one of the buildings Casa Azahar rents in the northern part of the town, the Las Fuentes area. Despite its name, Google Maps and Booking place it in the area of Las Fuentes beach and the marina, not in the Cargador old town. It is a block of spacious apartments spread over two floors, with a communal pool and sun terrace, designed for holiday stays with family or friends.

Where the El Centro apartments in Alcocéber are
The El Centro apartments are in the Las Fuentes area, north of Alcossebre marina, according to the location shown by Google Maps and Booking. It is the part of town closest to the Sierra de Irta and the one with the most seafaring atmosphere, with the marina, the urban beach and the promenade a few steps away.

The reference beach is Las Fuentes (Les Fonts): about 400 metres of fine sand and about 40 wide, with lifeguards, showers, toilets, a children's area and equipment rental in season. Its most curious feature is the freshwater springs that rise through the sand itself, from an ancient underground aquifer.
What is around:
- Las Fuentes marina, with about 283 moorings and home of the Club de Vela Alcossebre. Boat and diving trips to the Columbretes Islands leave from here.
- Seafront promenade, linking Las Fuentes with Cargador and the centre.
- Sierra de Irta to the north: Cala Blanca, the lighthouse and the start of the natural park's walking and cycling routes.
Advantages of the area: a beach with services, the marina and nature very close, and a slightly calmer pace than the Cargador promenade. Drawbacks: the town's shopping centre and Cargador beach are a walk away, and in high summer the marina area gets very crowded in the evenings.
What the El Centro apartments are like
The El Centro building is an apartment block with a communal pool and sun terrace. Its most distinctive feature is its homes on two levels: guests highlight that they are large apartments, and Casa Azahar's photos show a living-dining room opening onto a terrace, an open kitchen, a main bedroom and another on the upper floor, and a bedroom with bunk beds on the lower floor, each level with its own bathroom.

Services that appear on the listing and in reviews:
- Communal pool with sun terrace (seasonal).
- Air conditioning.
- Wifi.
- Apartments suitable for families and groups.
As in the rest of Casa Azahar's buildings, pets are not allowed. Key handover is managed from the Casa Azahar office, at Avenida Las Fuentes, 11, in the same area.
What guests say about the El Centro apartments
8.3/10 weighted average across booking sites · 4 reviews
| Website | Score | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Booking.com | 7.7/10 | 3 |
| 5.0/5 | 1 |
Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
Before reading the figures, one thing should be borne in mind: the listing is very recent. Booking only has 3 comments and Google a single review, so the average is not representative and could move a lot with the next reviews. There are no listings for this building on TripAdvisor, Expedia, Atrápalo or Central de Reservas.
With that caution, what the first guests say is consistent:
- Best rated: the location, which they consider central and close to the beach, and the size of the two-level apartments. On Booking, location, cleanliness, comfort and staff each get 9.2.
- What could be improved: air conditioning is only on the upper floor and it is hot downstairs in summer; towels are for hire and the paper supplies are minimal; and outside the season someone found the pool and sun terrace closed with no prior notice. Value for money, facilities and wifi stay at 7.5.
The profile of those who have reviewed so far is Spanish families and a British group.
Our assessment
Strengths
- Space: large apartments on two floors, with bedrooms split by level, useful when two families or a group with children travel together.
- Location in Las Fuentes, near the beach, the marina and the seafront promenade.
- Communal pool with sun terrace in season.
- Local management by Casa Azahar, with an office in the same area.
Weaknesses
- Air conditioning does not reach the lower floor: in July and August it is worth bearing this in mind if anyone sleeps downstairs.
- Towels for hire and basic supplies: better to bring your own.
- Seasonal pool: if you travel outside summer, ask beforehand whether it will be open.
- Still very few reviews.
Who is it ideal for? For large families and groups of friends who value space and want to walk to Las Fuentes beach and the marina. For couples looking for something more compact or for anyone who struggles with interior stairs, other buildings in the area may suit better.
Tips before booking at El Centro
With the available reviews and the building's data, these are the questions worth settling before confirming:
- Who sleeps on each floor. If you travel in July or August, book the upper floor, which has air conditioning, for whoever tolerates heat worst, and use the lower one, with bunk beds, for the children or for a nap in the cool hours.
- Towels and basics. Towels are for hire and the paper supplies are minimal, so it is worth bringing bath and beach towels, as well as the essentials for the first day.
- Pool out of season. If you come in spring or autumn, ask Casa Azahar whether the pool and sun terrace will be open on your dates.
- Length of stay. In summer in Alcocéber many rentals are by the week or fortnight; in the article on weekly and fortnightly stays we explain how to organise it.
None of this is exceptional in a holiday beach apartment, but knowing it in advance avoids surprises on arrival day.

When to go to the El Centro apartments
Alcossebre has a mild Mediterranean climate: according to the AEMET normals for the Castelló-Almassora station, the average is around 24.5 °C in summer, with highs of 29-30 °C, about 16 °C in spring and about 19 °C in autumn, and there are more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year. The sea is around 25 °C in high summer.
For El Centro, the time of year affects two things. In July and August the atmosphere in Las Fuentes and the marina is at its best and the pool is open, but it is when it is most noticeable that air conditioning only reaches the upper floor. In June and September the heat is more bearable, the beach is quieter and the two-level apartment is just as enjoyable. In spring and autumn, on the other hand, confirm beforehand whether the pool and sun terrace will be open, because one guest found them closed out of season. If your stay coincides with late August or early September, you will see the Fiestas Patronales of San Juan Bautista, the municipality's main ones, and in October the Fira de la Tomata de Penjar is held.
Surroundings and things to do from El Centro
From the Las Fuentes area you can walk to almost everything of interest on a holiday in Alcocéber:
- Las Fuentes beach, the nearest, with a children's area and services in season.
- Carregador or Cargador beach, the town's main one: about 850 metres of fine sand with a dune system, a seafront promenade and a Blue Flag every year without interruption since 1987.
- Marina: sailing, kayaking, paddle surf and diving trips to the Columbretes with local companies.
- Serra d'Irta Natural Park, declared in 2002, with about 12 km of unspoilt coast between Alcossebre and Peñíscola. Route 2 (Faro d'Irta - Cala Cubanita - Font de la Parra, 12.8 km, low difficulty) starts at Cala Blanca, and the Ruta del Cranc (13.2 km by mountain bike, low difficulty) follows the coastal track to Peñíscola.
Note that the park's coves have no lifeguards or services, and that in summer car access to the park's coast requires booking a space on the GVA Parcs Naturals app. With small children, the urban beaches are the most convenient option.
How to get to the El Centro apartments

- By train: the nearest station is Alcalà de Xivert, about 10 km away, with Media Distancia trains to Valencia and Barcelona.

In summary
In a nutshell: El Centro is a building of spacious duplexes with a pool in Las Fuentes, managed by Casa Azahar and still with very few reviews. It offers space and a convenient location near the beach and the marina, in exchange for air conditioning limited to the upper floor and a basic supply of towels. It is a good choice for large families and groups travelling in June or September, or who do not fear the heat.
