The Habitat apartments in Alcossebre are one of the Romana beach residences with the biggest presence on the portals. They are advertised under various names depending on the operator: "Apartamentos Habitat Altamar", "Habitat Playa Romana 3000", "APCOSTAS Habitat Playa Romana", "Romana Beach" or "Piscina y Mar - Habitat". They all refer to the same complex.
This is an independent information page: it covers the location, what is known about the residence and an analysis of public reviews. A warning to avoid confusion: the word "Habitat" also appears in the name of other accommodations in the area that have no connection with this residence. This page is about the Habitat residence on Romana beach.
Where the Habitat residence is
The Habitat residence is on the front line of Romana beach, in the southern stretch of Alcossebre. Guests describe it as a development that is very well located, next to the beach: location scores 8.5 on Booking and 8.9 on Central de Reservas.

Romana beach has:
- A length of 500 metres and a width of about 40, with fine sand.
- Accessibility and a children's area or activities, according to the official tourism website.
- Blue Flag in 2026, like Carregador, El Moro and Manyetes.
- The Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway that links it with Carregador beach.
Advantages of the area: reaching the sand in a minute, a quiet family atmosphere, and several beaches within reach: Romana, El Moro and, further south, Tres Platges and Manyetes.
Drawbacks: the centre is far away. Some guests reckon half an hour on foot. For dinner in the town or a big shop, a car is useful.
What the Habitat complex is like
Habitat is a front-line residence with a pool and a garden. From the portals and reviews, the following is known:
- A large, well-kept pool area, the most valued element of the complex.
- A shared garden.
- A pool bar or beach bar inside the residence.
- Multi-bedroom apartments, which guests describe as well equipped.
- A washing machine and fans.
- Air conditioning for an extra charge in some homes, or in only one room.
As each apartment belongs to an owner and is rented by a different operator, the interior equipment varies. What applies to one home does not necessarily apply to the one next door.

Habitat has 45 reviews on two portals, with a weighted average of 7.5 out of 10. As the complex is marketed by several operators and each has its own listing, it is worth knowing what each figure covers:
- Booking (7.4/10, 38 reviews) corresponds to the Lloguers Altamar apartments. It is the listing with the most reviews.
- Central de Reservas (7.8/10, 7 reviews) corresponds to the APCOSTAS listing. There is another listing, "Apartamentos Habitat Altamar", with 8.6 but a single review, which we have not included.

Our assessment of the Habitat residence
Strengths. Few things are valued more on a beach holiday than having the sand and a good pool at your door, and Habitat offers both on one of Alcossebre's Blue Flag beaches. From what the reviews show, the atmosphere is family-oriented and some people come back every summer.
Weaknesses. The condition of the apartments depends a lot on the home and the operator. Air conditioning for an extra charge and the distance to the centre are the two aspects that most affect a stay.
Who it is ideal for:
- Families with children, who can alternate beach and pool without taking the car.
- Couples looking for peace and quiet by the sea.
- Those who come back every summer and want a hassle-free beach spot.
Who it is less suited to: anyone who wants to go out into the centre on foot every night, or who needs air conditioning throughout the apartment at no extra cost.
What to check before booking: the operator and the reviews of that particular home, whether air conditioning is included and in which rooms, and whether it is on a low or high floor.

With children at the Habitat residence
Habitat is, by location, one of the most convenient complexes in Alcossebre for travelling with children: Romana beach, with fine sand and accessible, is right in front, and the pool area is large. According to the official tourism website, Romana has a children's area or activities, like Carregador and Les Fonts. For a change, you can try sailing, kayaking or paddle surfing, or take a boat trip to the Columbretes Islands from Las Fuentes marina.
Remember that the coves of the Serra d'Irta have no lifeguards or services: with small children, the urban beaches are better.
Around Habitat and things to do
From Romana beach, the Senda Litoral leads on foot to Carregador and its seafront promenade, the heart of town life, with a weekly market in season. To the north, past Las Fuentes marina, the Serra d'Irta Natural Park begins, with about 12 km of protected coastline: the Ruta del Cranc by bike reaches Peñíscola (13.2 km, easy) and the walking route from Cala Blanca to Cala Cubanita is 12.8 km and easy. In summer, to drive onto the park's coast you must book a space in the GVA Parcs Naturals app.
From the marina, diving and boat trips set off for the Columbretes Islands, and about 35 km away is the Aquarama water park, in Benicàssim.
