The Canaret apartments in Alcossebre form a residential complex at the far south of the town, in the Romana beach and El Moro area. On the portals it appears under several names depending on who rents it: "Marineu Canaret", "Canaret 3000" or "Canaret Vista Mar". As in many coastal complexes, the apartments belong to different owners and are marketed by several agencies.
This is an independent informational page: it gathers the location, what is known about the complex and an analysis of the public reviews, explaining where each score comes from.
An important warning: Canaret is not the same as Punta Canaret, another nearby complex, about 70 metres away. On some portals the two listings are mixed up, as you will see in the reviews section.
Where Residencial Canaret is
Residencial Canaret is in the southern stretch of Alcossebre, in the area running from Romana beach to El Moro, Tres Platges and Manyetes. Guests place the complex next to Romana beach, and TripAdvisor lists it as "Marineu Canaret Playa Romana". It is very close to Residencial Serena Mar.

The nearest beaches are:
- Romana beach: 500 metres of fine sand, accessible and with a Blue Flag in 2026. Along the Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway, you can walk to Carregador.
- El Moro beach: 300 metres of fine sand between rocks, with lifeguards, showers and toilets. Also with a Blue Flag in 2026.
- Tres Platges: three small chained coves, with fine sand and pebbles, with an unsupervised bathing area.
Advantages of the area: peace and quiet, several different beaches a few steps away and a more residential setting than the centre.
Drawbacks: the town centre and the Cargador promenade are a long walk away; for day-to-day life, a car helps.
What the Canaret complex is like
Canaret is a residential complex with a seasonal pool. From the portals and reviews, the following is stated:
- Pool, open in season.
- Parking.
- Terraces; some guests comment that they have no awning and get a lot of light from early morning.
- Wifi, which is paid in some units.
- Apartments described as spacious, with a kitchen that has what you need.
As each apartment has its own owner and manager, condition and equipment vary a lot. It is especially important to look at the photos and reviews of the specific home, not just those of the complex.
What guests say about Residencial Canaret
6.2/10 weighted average across booking sites · 22 reviews
| Website | Score | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| Booking.com | 5.0/10 | 1 |
| 3.7/5 | 15 | |
| Tripadvisor | 1.7/5 | 6 |
Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
Canaret has 22 public reviews, with a weighted average of 6.2 out of 10. But this figure should be read carefully, because there is no listing for the complex as such:
- Booking (5.0/10) corresponds to a single unit advertised by Albert Villas, with just one review. It does not represent the complex.
- Google (3.7/5, 15 reviews) has a listing that mixes Canaret and Punta Canaret, both marketed by Marineu. Some of the reviews may refer to the neighbouring complex.
- TripAdvisor (1.7/5, 6 reviews) collects reviews from 2020 to 2024 of stays with Marineu, very negative. The other TripAdvisor listings, "Canaret 3000" and "Punta Canaret 3000", have no reviews.
That is, the scores mainly reflect the experience with specific apartments and operators, rather than the complex itself. Even so, some themes repeat.
What is most appreciated:
- The location next to Romana beach.
- Spacious apartments.
- A kitchen with what you need.
- A moderate price.
What some guests point out as needing improvement:
- Old, unrenovated apartments.
- Poor maintenance in some units: shutters, damaged worktops.
- Insects and drain smells, mentioned in several reviews.
- Last-minute apartment changes by the agency.
- Spring mattresses and paid wifi in some units.
- Terraces without an awning and with a lot of light from early morning.
The guest profile is Spanish couples and families.
Our assessment of Residencial Canaret
Strengths. Location is Canaret's main argument: Romana beach, El Moro and Tres Platges a very short distance away, in a quiet area. The apartments are spacious and, according to some guests, the price is moderate.
Weaknesses. The available reviews, although few and mixed, agree that the condition of many homes needs updating. The lack of a listing for the complex makes it hard to know what you will find.
Who it may suit:
- Couples or families who prioritise being next to Romana beach and El Moro.
- Travellers on a tight budget who accept a simple apartment.
What to check before booking:
- That the listing corresponds to Canaret and not to Punta Canaret.
- Who manages the apartment and what reviews that specific home has.
- Whether wifi is included and whether the terrace has an awning.
- The pool's opening dates, as it is seasonal.
When to go to this area of Alcossebre
The southern stretch of Alcossebre is best enjoyed from June to September; as the complex's pool is seasonal, confirm its opening dates if you come outside the summer. In summer, the average is around 24.5 °C and the sea approaches 25 °C. In June and September the beaches are quieter, which is welcome in small coves like Tres Platges. If you come by the week, the guide to weekly and fortnightly rentals has ideas to help you plan.
