The Los Almendros apartments at Playa Romana form a small, quiet residential complex in the southern stretch of Alcossebre, a few steps from a fine-sand beach with a Blue Flag. It is not a large complex with entertainment, but a family-oriented development with the practical things sorted: lift, garage and air conditioning.
This is an independent informational page: it covers the location, what is known about the complex and what public reviews say. A warning before going on: in Alcossebre there are other complexes called "Los Almendros" in different parts of the village. This page is about Residencial Los Almendros at Playa Romana.
Where Residencial Los Almendros is
Los Almendros is in the Playa Romana area, south of the centre of Alcossebre. Guests highlight that it is very close to the beach, and some portals advertise it as beachfront. On Booking, location scores 8.5 and on Central de Reservas, 10 (with a single review).

Playa Romana has these characteristics:
- 500 metres long and about 40 wide, of fine sand.
- Accessible, with a children's area or activities according to the official tourism website.
- Blue Flag in 2026, like Carregador, El Moro and Manyetes.
- Connected to Carregador beach by the Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway by the sea.
Advantages of the area: it is quieter than the centre, with the beach at the door and a pleasant walk to Cargador. For families with small children, a fine-sand, accessible, flagged beach so close is a clear plus.
Drawbacks: to get to the town centre there is a walk; many do it on foot along the Senda Litoral, but with children or at night you may prefer the car, which is kept in the garage here.

- Booking (7.9/10, 7 reviews) is the only listing of the complex with its own reviews from stays. Its sub-scores are high for cleanliness (8.9) and staff (8.9), and somewhat lower for facilities (7.8).
- Google (4.2/5, 16 reviews) does not have a listing for the complex as such, but a holiday rental listing by type ("Two-Bedroom Apartment") that shows an aggregate score from travel sites.
- Central de Reservas (8.2/10) has a single review: location and services 10, and cleanliness, facilities and price 7.
We have not found listings for the complex on TripAdvisor, Expedia or Atrápalo.
What is most valued:

- The lift and the large closed garage.
- Effective air conditioning in all rooms.
What some guests point out as needing improvement:
- The pool is small and almost always in the shade.

The guest profile is families and groups, Spanish and also French.
Our assessment of Residencial Los Almendros
Strengths. From what the reviews reflect, Los Almendros offers a very practical combination: a flagged beach at the door, lift, garage and effective air conditioning. These are four things that do not always coincide in the same building in Alcossebre and that make a difference in midsummer. The small, family atmosphere is another plus.
Weak points. Those looking for a large, sunny pool will probably be left wanting, and with a single bathroom living together in large groups becomes harder. The number of reviews is low and the interior equipment may vary between homes.
Ideal for:
- Families with children, who have Playa Romana a short walk away.
- Older people or those who have difficulty with stairs, thanks to the lift.
- Those travelling by car who want a closed garage.
Less suitable for: those who want town-centre life every night or a pool as the main attraction.
When to go to Playa Romana
Alcossebre has more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year. In summer, the average temperature is around 24.5 °C, with highs of about 29-30 °C, and the sea is around 25 °C in midsummer. June and September combine good weather with quieter beaches; July and August are the liveliest months, with the patron saint festivals of San Juan Bautista between August and September. If you plan to come for a week or a fortnight, in our guide to renting by the week and fortnight you will find tips on how to organise it.
With children at Playa Romana
Playa Romana is one of the most convenient beaches in Alcossebre to go to with children: fine sand, accessible and with a Blue Flag. According to the official tourism website, it has a children's area or activities, like Les Fonts and Carregador. For a different day, sailing, kayak and paddle surf activities and boat trips to the Columbretes Islands leave from the Las Fuentes marina. If the weather is not on your side, the Aquarama water park, in Benicàssim, is about 35 km away.
A practical tip: the coves of the Serra d'Irta are very beautiful, but they have no lifeguards or services. With small children, stay on the town beaches, which are also at your door.
What to eat in Alcossebre
Local cuisine looks to the sea and the market gardens. Typical dishes are oven-baked rice, seafood rice, suquet de peix, octopus with potatoes and rostit, and the municipality's star product is the tomata de penjar d'Alcalà de Xivert, which has been grown for more than a century and has its own fair in October. For dessert, almond sweets: pastissets, carquinyols and rosegons.
