The Hibiscus apartments in Alcocéber form a residence with a pool in the Las Fuentes area, in the northern part of the town, towards the Sierra de Irta. They are currently managed by Casa Azahar, Alcossebre's local agency; for years another operator, Apartamentos 3000, also marketed them, which is why they still appear on some portals as Hibiscus 3000.
It is a complex that is little known online: it has very few reviews and, in addition, the Google listing places it in the wrong spot. On this page we explain where it really is and how to interpret the scores you will see.

Where the Hibiscus residence is
The Hibiscus residence is in the Las Fuentes area of Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón), in the sector that climbs towards the Sierra de Irta, north of the marina. Both the Casa Azahar listing and the Booking one say so.
Careful with Google Maps. The Google listing "Residencial Hibiscus Casa Azahar" puts the marker in the town centre, far from the real location. One of its two reviews, in fact, only warns that the map location is wrong. If you are driving, use the address Casa Azahar gives you when you book, not the Google point.
The reference beach is Las Fuentes beach (Les Fonts): fine sand, about 400 m long and 40 m wide, with freshwater springs that rise in the sand itself. It has lifeguards, toilets, showers, foot showers, ramps, a children's area and equipment hire.
Advantages of the area:
- A quiet, residential atmosphere.
- Close to the marina and the Serra d'Irta routes.
- A quick way out towards the lighthouse and Cala Blanca.
Drawbacks:
- From this part of Las Fuentes, the centre and Cargador beach are some distance away, so a car is handy for getting there or doing a big shop.

What the Hibiscus residence is like
Hibiscus is an apartment residence with a shared pool and a landscaped area. The pool is, in fact, the only thing that is unanimously well rated in the few reviews available.
We have no verified data on a lift, parking or apartment types, so we do not state them here. The Casa Azahar listing shows the features and photos of each available apartment; check it before booking if you need something specific.
As in all Casa Azahar buildings, pets are not accepted.

Hibiscus residence reviews
4.5/10 weighted average across booking sites · 7 reviews
| Website | Score | Reviews |

| Atrápalo | 4.0/10 | 2 |
| Central de Reservas | 4.4/10 | 3 |
Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
The Hibiscus figures must be read with great caution, for three reasons:
- There are very few. In total there are seven reviews split between Google (2), Atrápalo (2) and Central de Reservas (3). With so few, a single bad stay completely changes the average.
- They are old and from another operator. The Central de Reservas ones are from 2015 and 2016 and correspond to the Apartamentos 3000 period. They do not necessarily reflect how the residence is managed today with Casa Azahar.
- One of the two Google reviews does not rate the stay, but warns that the map marker is misplaced.
The TripAdvisor listings (both the Casa Azahar one and the Apartamentos 3000 one) have no reviews, and the Booking listing appears in the search but shows no score.
What guests like. The pool is the best-rated point in the reviews.
What is criticised. The negative comments, all from the previous period, agree on:
- an apartment that was dirty and smelled stuffy on arrival;
- poor kitchenware and an appliance that did not work, such as the extractor hood;
- being asked to do the check-out cleaning even though the apartment had been received dirty.
On Central de Reservas, the highest sub-score is location (6.0) and the lowest is cleanliness (2.7).
Our reading: with this data no solid conclusion can be drawn about the Hibiscus of today. If you stay there, your review on the portals will be a great help to other travellers.
Our assessment
Strengths
- A residence with a pool in a quiet part of Las Fuentes.
- Close to the marina and the Sierra de Irta.
- Current management by a local agency with an office in the town.
Weaknesses
- Very few recent reviews to judge it by.
- A wrong location on Google Maps, which can cause confusion on arrival.
- The old criticisms point to cleanliness and equipment, although they are from a different management.
Who it is ideal for
- Couples and small families looking for a quiet residence with a pool who do not mind using the car.
- Travellers who want hiking and cycling in the Serra d'Irta close at hand.
- If other guests' reviews are decisive for you, you may prefer a building in the area with more ratings, such as Fuente Sol or Jardines del Puerto.

What to do near Hibiscus
Las Fuentes marina (about 283 berths and home of the Alcossebre Sailing Club) and its beach are the nearest plan. From the marina, sailing, kayaking, paddle surfing, diving and boat trips set off, some to the Columbretes Islands.
The seafront promenade leads south to Cargador beach, Alcocéber's main one: 850 m of fine sand, accessible and with a Blue Flag every year since 1987. The Senda Litoral links it with Romana beach.
To the north, the Serra d'Irta Natural Park offers about 12 km of unspoilt coastline as far as Peñíscola:
- Route 2 on foot, from Cala Blanca to Font de la Parra: 12.8 km, easy.
- Red route from the lighthouse: 8.5 km loop, easy.
- Ruta del Cranc by bike, along the coastal track to Peñíscola: 13.2 km, easy.
The park's coves have no lifeguards or services, and in summer driving onto its coast requires booking a space in the GVA Parcs Naturals app.
Other plans: the Tuesday market on Camí l'Atall (May to October), the 68 m bell tower of Alcalà de Xivert, about 9 km away, and the local food, with tomata de penjar, arroz a la marinera or suquet de peix.
How to get there
From the AP-7 (exit 44, Alcossebre-Torreblanca) or the N-340, take the CV-142 to Alcossebre and head towards the marina and the Las Fuentes area. For the last stretch, use the address Casa Azahar gives you.
- Airports: Castellón (about 22 km, about 25 min), Valencia (about 123 km), Reus (about 145 km) and Barcelona (about 230 km).
- Train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away.
