The Roquer Martí apartments in Alcossebre form a residence right on the seafront, on the southern stretch of El Cargador, where the coast starts to turn towards La Romana beach. It is a complex of privately owned homes with a shared pool; some are rented out in season through agencies such as Orange Costa or Albert Villas.
This page is informative and independent: Casa Azahar does not manage apartments in Roquer Martí or offer bookings there. At the end we suggest Casa Azahar alternatives in the same area.
Where is the Roquer Martí Residence in Alcocéber?
Roquer Martí is in the southern part of El Cargador, next to La Romana beach, on the seafront. Guests sum it up as: right on the beach, with sea views. It is no coincidence that location is its best sub-score on Booking, at 9.5 out of 10.

Beaches within reach:
- El Carregador or Cargador beach: about 850 metres of fine sand and 70 wide, with a dune system, a promenade, a sailing club and a Blue Flag every year since 1987.
- La Romana beach: about 500 metres of fine sand, accessible, linked to El Cargador by the wooden walkway of the Senda Litoral.
- El Moro, a little further south, with sand between rocks.
Advantages of the area: heading down to the beach in your swimsuit, sunset walks along the Senda Litoral and less bustle than in the centre. Drawbacks: the shops, the restaurants in the centre and the harbour are a walk away, and in August the seafront gets very busy.

What do guests say about Roquer Martí?
8.5/10 weighted average across booking sites · 26 reviews
| Website | Score | Reviews |

Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
One caveat when reading this score: the Booking listing is for one specific Orange Costa apartment, not for the whole residence. It describes that home and its management well, but it does not necessarily apply to the others. The TripAdvisor listing has no reviews, and on Google there is only a rental ad with no reviews.
The Booking sub-scores are high: location 9.5, cleanliness 9.1, facilities 9.0, comfort 8.5 and staff 8.4. Value for money, at 7.9, is the lowest.
What guests like most:
- Being right on the beach, with sea views.
- A great pool and a quiet atmosphere.
- A clean apartment with a fully equipped kitchen.
- It is so popular that some guests come back summer after summer.
What some guests point out:
- The heat: there are only ceiling fans, which are noisy and not very effective in midsummer.
- Some uncomfortable mattresses.
- Basic utensils and a lack of shelves in the bathroom.
- Check-in at 17:00 and check-out at 10:00.
The typical guests are Spanish families and couples.
Our verdict
Strengths
- Beachfront with sea views, in a quieter area than the centre.
- Shared pool with very good ratings.
- Cleanliness and overall condition well rated in the unit with reviews.
- Loyal guests, a good sign of satisfaction.
Points to bear in mind
- Guests miss air conditioning in midsummer.
- The score is for a single unit.
- Tight check-in and check-out times.
Who is it ideal for? For families and couples who want the beach on their doorstep and a quiet pool, especially in June or September, when the heat is easier to handle with fans. If you cannot stand the night-time heat of July and August, ask about the cooling in the specific unit.
Tips if you are renting in Roquer Martí
- Check the unit. If it is not the one on the listing with reviews, ask for photos and a list of equipment.
- Cooling. In July and August ask whether there is air conditioning; if not, a standing fan helps.
- Kitchen. The kitchenware is basic: bring what you use every day.
- Times. With check-in at 17:00 and check-out at 10:00, plan your trip so you can enjoy the beach on the first and last day.
- Long stays. In the article on renting by the week or fortnight we explain how the summer works in Alcocéber.
When to go to Roquer Martí
Alcossebre has a mild Mediterranean climate: according to AEMET normals for the Castelló-Almassora station, the average is around 24.5 °C in summer, with highs of 29-30 °C, about 16 °C in spring and about 19 °C in autumn, and it gets more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year. The sea is around 25 °C in midsummer.
Being on the seafront is enjoyable all year round, but the heat of July and August is the weak point guests mention, because the unit with reviews only has ceiling fans. That is why June and September are perhaps the best months for this residence: the water is warm, the nights are more bearable and El Cargador beach has more room. In summer, on the other hand, you have the whole buzz of the promenade and the Senda Litoral at your feet, and at the end of August the Fiestas Patronales of San Juan Bautista.
Around and about
- Senda Litoral: the wooden walkway between El Cargador and La Romana beach passes very close by.
- Promenade and town centre, with restaurants and the weekly summer market.
- Southern beaches: Romana, El Moro, Tres Platges and Manyetes.
- Las Fuentes marina, with the Alcossebre Sailing Club and diving trips to the Columbretes Islands.
- Serra d'Irta Natural Park: from Cala Blanca and the lighthouse start route 2 (12.8 km, easy) and the Ruta del Cranc for mountain bikes (13.2 km) towards Peñíscola. In summer, access by car to the park's coast requires booking a space on the GVA Parcs Naturals app.
- Food: seafood rice, suquet de peix and the tomata de penjar from Alcalà de Xivert in the town's restaurants.
Getting around from Roquer Martí
From the seafront on the south side of El Cargador you can get around on foot along the coast throughout your stay: to the north, the promenade leads to the centre, to Las Fuentes beach and to the marina; to the south, the wooden walkway of the Senda Litoral connects with La Romana beach and, beyond it, with El Moro, Tres Platges and Manyetes. For the Sierra de Irta, which begins at Cala Blanca, at the other end of the town, or to visit Alcalà de Xivert (about 9 km) and Peñíscola (about 32 km by road), the car is the most convenient option, and the free parking at the unit with reviews helps.
How to get to Roquer Martí

- By train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away, with regional services to Valencia and Barcelona.
- By air: Castellón, about 22 km (about 25 min); Valencia, about 123 km (approx. 1 h 30 min).

In short
In a nutshell: Roquer Martí is a beachfront residence on the south side of El Cargador with a pool and sea views, with one very well rated unit (8.5 on Booking) and guests who return. The heat in midsummer, with only fans, is what is most worth bearing in mind.
