The reference beach is Carregador or Cargador, the town's main one:
- 850 metres of fine sand and about 70 wide.
- A promenade, a dune system with sea daffodils and full accessibility.
- An uninterrupted Blue Flag since 1987; in 2026 it is one of the four Alcossebre beaches with a flag, along with El Moro, Romana and Manyetes.
- A sailing club and paddle surf hire.
Advantages of the area: shops, restaurants and the beach close at hand, in a setting of residential developments that is quieter than the promenade. The location sub-score on Booking is 9.4.
Drawbacks: it is not on the front line, so do not expect sea views from every apartment. In midsummer, the centre is fairly busy.

San Damián is an apartment residence with communal areas. What is on record from the portals and reviews:

- Booking (8.5/10, 55 reviews) is not for the whole residence but for a single home advertised by Playavacaciones ("San Damián con aire y PK"). It is the listing that contributes the most reviews and sets the average.
- Google (4.3/5, 6 reviews) is for the "AP Costas - San Damian" listing, from another operator.
- TripAdvisor (4.3/5, 3 reviews) and Central de Reservas (5.2/10, 1 review) have very few ratings, and old ones, from between 2015 and 2018. The Central de Reservas listing is for "Apartamentos San Damián 3000".

Strengths. From what the reviews reflect, San Damián combines well two things that are much sought after in Alcossebre: a large pool and garden area and a location close to the centre and the beach. The fact that the most reviewed apartment has air conditioning and parking adds points for summer.
Weak points. The score rests largely on a single home, and the criticisms that appear (kitchenware, cleanliness, minor faults) are the typical ones for a residence with different owners and managers. That is why it is worth looking at who rents each apartment and at the reviews for that specific listing.
Who is it ideal for?
- Families who want a pool and garden without being far from the centre.
- Groups of friends looking for spacious apartments.
- Couples who prefer a quiet development to the front line.
What to check before booking: who manages the apartment, whether it has air conditioning and parking, and what it includes in terms of bed linen, towels and basics.
Beaches near Residencial San Damián
From the El Cargador area you have the most complete town beaches in Alcossebre close at hand, all with fine sand:

The beaches of Les Fonts, Carregador and Romana also have children's areas or activities, according to the official tourism website. For families with small children they are preferable to the coves of the Serra d'Irta, which have no lifeguards or services.
When to go and how long to stay
Most guests at residences like San Damián come in summer, for a week or a fortnight. In July and August, the average temperature is around 24.5 °C, with highs of about 29-30 °C, and the sea reaches about 25 °C; between August and September the San Juan Bautista fiestas are held, the town's main ones. Around and about near San Damián
From the residence you can walk to the El Cargador promenade. Along the Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway, you continue to La Romana beach, 500 metres long, accessible and with a Blue Flag. To the north, the Las Fuentes marina and Las Fuentes beach, with its freshwater springs in the sand.
Beyond the lighthouse begins the Serra d'Irta Natural Park: about 12 km of protected coast with pebble and sand coves, with no lifeguards or services. From Cala Blanca start the walking route to Cala Cubanita (12.8 km, easy) and the Ruta del Cranc by bike to Peñíscola (13.2 km, easy). In summer, to enter the park's coast by car you must book a space on the GVA Parcs Naturals app.
For day trips, Peñíscola is about 32 km by road and Morella a little under an hour and a half away.
How to get to Residencial San Damián
- By car: via the AP-7, exit 44 (Alcossebre-Torreblanca), or via the N-340 and the CV-142 to Alcossebre. From Zaragoza it is about 255 km (approx. 3 h 30 min); from Madrid, about 465 km; from Valencia, about 120 km.
- By train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away, with regional trains to Valencia and Barcelona.
- By air: Castellón airport about 22 km away (approx. 25 min); Valencia, about 123 km (approx. 1 h 30 min); Reus, about 2 h.

Casa Azahar, the local agency in Alcossebre, does not manage apartments in San Damián, but it does in these buildings in the same area:
- Residencial Al Andalus: very close, about 7 minutes from El Cargador beach, with a large garden and a pool for adults and children. 1- and 2-bedroom apartments.
- Apartamentos Bovalar: central, a few minutes from El Cargador, with a lift, a garden, a sun terrace and a pool for adults and children.
- Villas Sunset: villas with a private garden and barbecue about 400 metres from El Cargador, for groups of 5 to 7 people.
