The Albamar apartments in Alcossebre, which some ads call the Albamar estate, form a residential block built in the 1970s on the front line of Cargador beach. It is at Calle Garbí, 1, right next to Residencial El Arenal (Garbí, 2), on the stretch of the Cargador closest to the town centre.
As in most coastal buildings, the apartments belong to different owners. Some are rented for seasonal stays through local agencies, such as Albert Villas, and its Google listing appears as Apartamentos Albamar - playa Cargador. We have not found a listing for the building itself on Booking or the other portals.
This page is informational and independent. Casa Azahar does not manage apartments in Albamar and does not take bookings for it; at the end we point out Casa Azahar alternatives in the same area.
Where are the Albamar apartments in Alcocéber
Albamar is at Calle Garbí, 1, facing Cargador beach. Guests say the sea can be seen and heard from the terrace, and that the centre is close. Residencial El Arenal is next door, and the surroundings have restaurants, including a paella restaurant that several reviews mention.

Cargador beach is Alcossebre's main beach:
- About 850 metres of fine sand and 70 wide, with a dune system of high ecological value and a colony of sea daffodils.
- Blue Flag since 1987 without interruption, including 2026.
- Accessible, with a sailing club, paddle surf hire and a seafront promenade.
Advantages of the area: the beach on your doorstep, the seafront promenade and the centre with shops and restaurants a short walk away, with no need for a car during your stay. Drawbacks: in high summer it is a busy area, and part of the surroundings is pedestrianised, so getting there by car and loading and unloading luggage take some planning.
What the Albamar building is like
Albamar is a 1970s apartment block on the front line. What reviews and listings mention most is:
- A terrace in the apartments, with sea views.
- Parking, a practical point because part of the area is pedestrianised.
No pool or lift is mentioned in the sources we checked, so do not take them for granted. As the building is several decades old and has different owners, the condition of each apartment varies: according to reviews, some flats are better kept than others.
What guests think of the Albamar apartments
9.0/10 weighted average across booking sites · 10 reviews
| Website | Score | Reviews |
|---|---|---|
| 4.5/5 | 10 |
Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
The only source with ratings is the building's Google listing (4.5 out of 5, equivalent to 9.0 out of 10), with 10 reviews. It is a small sample, so take it as a guide. There are no Albamar listings on Booking, Tripadvisor, Expedia, Atrápalo or Central de Reservas, so there are no sub-scores for cleanliness, comfort or value for money to compare.
What guests like most:
- The front-line location: the sea a few metres away, visible and audible from the terrace.
- The closeness to the centre of Alcossebre, which can be reached on foot.
- The parking, valuable in a partly pedestrianised area.
- The restaurants nearby, with a rice restaurant next door.
What some guests point out:
- It is a 1970s building and some apartments look old and poorly kept.

Our assessment
Strengths
- A genuine front-line position on Cargador beach, one of the four Alcossebre beaches with a Blue Flag in 2026.
- Centre, seafront promenade and restaurants a few minutes' walk away.
- Parking, uncommon so close to the beach.
- A high Google rating, although with few reviews.
Weaknesses
- Older building: the condition depends a lot on the specific apartment.
- Few reviews, on a single portal, with no breakdown by category.
- No pool or lift mentioned.
Who is it ideal for? For couples and families who prioritise having the beach in front of them and the town within walking distance, and who prefer location over facilities. If you travel with older people or a pushchair, confirm the floor and access before booking, because no lift is mentioned.
Tips if you plan to rent in Albamar
- Ask for current photos of the specific apartment. In a 1970s building, the condition can vary a lot from one flat to another.
- Confirm the parking space. Ask whether it is included with the apartment and how to get to it, given that part of the area is pedestrianised.
- Ask about the terrace and orientation. The sea views are the big attraction; make sure your flat has them.
- Check the equipment. Air conditioning, kitchenware and bed linen depend on each owner.
Around the area and things to do
- Seafront promenade and Senda Litoral: to the south, the wooden walkway leads from the Cargador to Romana beach; to the north, the promenade continues to Las Fuentes beach.
- Las Fuentes beach and marina: freshwater springs in the sand itself and the Club de Vela Alcossebre, with a sailing school.
- Water sports: paddle surf at the Cargador and boat trips from the marina, including visits to the Columbretes Islands Natural Park.
- Serra d'Irta Natural Park: north of the town, with route 2 (Faro d'Irta - Cala Cubanita - Font de la Parra, 12.8 km, easy) and the Ruta del Cranc mountain-bike trail towards Peñíscola.
- Local food: rice dishes, suquet de peix and the tomata de penjar from Alcalà de Xivert.
When to go to Albamar
Being on the front line, the best time to make the most of Albamar is when you can live on the terrace and go down to the beach without a car:
- June to September: swimming season, with average summer highs of about 29-30 °C and sea temperatures around 25 °C in high summer. July and August are the liveliest months at the Cargador.
- Spring and autumn: average temperatures of about 16 °C in spring and 19 °C in autumn, fewer people on the beach and good weather for walking along the promenade or hiking in the Serra d'Irta.
The area gets more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year, so even outside summer it is common to be able to enjoy the terrace.
If you are thinking of a long stay, see the article on renting by the week or fortnight.
