Azahar Beach Apartments & Spa (Alcossebre Azahar Beach) is a recently built apartment complex made up of two buildings, Blue and Red, which on the portals sometimes appear as separate listings. It is close to the sea, in the strip between Cargador beach and Las Fuentes beach, and is one of the best-rated accommodations in Alcocéber. It is managed by its own operator, Azahar Beach; this page is informational and independent and has no connection with its management.

Where is Azahar Beach

The Azahar Beach complex is in Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón), between the Cargador and Las Fuentes, the area linking the town centre with the marina. Guests highlight its closeness to the beach and the sea views from some of the apartments.

The two reference beaches are:

• Cargador beach (Carregador): the town's main beach, 850 m of fine sand, fully accessible, with a seafront promenade, a sailing club and a Blue Flag without interruption since 1987. It preserves a dune system of high ecological value, with sea daffodils.
• Las Fuentes beach (Les Fonts): about 400 m of fine sand next to the marina, with freshwater springs that rise in the sand itself, lifeguards and a children's area.

Advantages of the area:

• Two beaches, the seafront promenade and the marina on foot.
• Centre, shops and restaurants nearby.
• Easy access towards the Serra d'Irta.

Drawbacks:

• In high season the Cargador promenade is very busy.

What the Azahar Beach complex is like

Azahar Beach is a modern complex, with new, well-equipped apartments according to guests. The portals mention these services:

• A pool, highly rated and open many hours.
• A spa (at extra cost) and a gym.
• Private parking.
• A lift.
• Air conditioning in all rooms and wifi.
• A barbecue.
• Facilities adapted for guests with reduced mobility.

The complex is divided into two buildings: Blue and Red (the latter also appears as Azahar Beach Garden). Both have almost identical ratings, so, in practice, the experience described by guests is the same in both.

A clarification for reading the table: the complex has two listings on Booking, one per building. The Blue one has 9.2/10 from 299 reviews and the Red one 9.3/10 from 344. Google groups the whole complex with 4.8/5 and 335 reviews. TripAdvisor (5/5) and Atrápalo (10/10) have very few reviews (six and one, respectively), so they contribute little to the average. The Red listing on Central de Reservas and the Blue one on Atrápalo show no reviews.

The weighted average is 9.4 out of 10 from 985 reviews, one of the highest in Alcocéber.

What guests like most. On Booking, cleanliness reaches 9.6 in both buildings, and comfort and facilities 9.5 or 9.6. The ideas that recur most:

• Everything is new, modern and very well equipped.
• The cleanliness is impeccable.
• The pool, spa and gym.
• The staff are very attentive and friendly; several guests name specific employees.
• The closeness to the beach and the sea views.
• Air conditioning in all rooms and adaptation for reduced mobility.
• Many customers come back every year.

What is criticised. The lowest sub-score is value for money (8.7) and, in the Red building, wifi (8.0). Some guests point out:

• beds that are too firm for their taste;
• that some kitchen basics and pool towels are missing for the price level;
• little privacy between neighbouring terraces;
• that the spa has an extra cost they consider expensive;
• small details of kitchenware (cutlery, hangers, toaster).

Overall, the opinion is very positive and consistent: the criticisms concern details and not the stay as a whole.

What to do near Azahar Beach

From the complex you can walk to the Cargador promenade and to Las Fuentes marina, with about 283 berths and home to the Club de Vela Alcossebre. At the marina you can book water activities such as sailing, kayaking, paddle surf, diving and boat trips, some to the Columbretes Islands.

To the south, the Senda Litoral links the Cargador with Romana beach; beyond are El Moro, Tres Platges and Manyetes. To the north begins the Serra d'Irta Natural Park, declared in 2002, with about 12 km of unspoilt coastline as far as Peñíscola: route 2 on foot from Cala Blanca (12.8 km, easy) and the Ruta del Cranc by bike (13.2 km, easy) are the simplest. In summer, driving to the park's coast requires reserving a space in the GVA Parcs Naturals app.

More plans: the Tuesday market on Camí l'Atall (from May to October), the 68 m bell tower of Alcalà de Xivert, about 9 km away, or a trip to Peñíscola, about 32 km by road. If you travel with children, the Aquarama water park in Benicàssim is about 35 km away.

When to go to Azahar Beach

Alcossebre has a mild Mediterranean climate: according to the AEMET norms for the Castelló-Almassora station, the average temperature is around 24.5 °C in summer and 16 °C in spring, with more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year. In high summer, the sea is around 25 °C. July and August are the liveliest months; June and September are usually quieter and still good for the beach, and spring and autumn are ideal for combining pool, spa and hiking in the Serra d'Irta.

How to get there

Alcossebre has direct access from the AP-7 (exit 44, Alcossebre-Torreblanca) and from the N-340 via the CV-142. The complex is in the area between the Cargador and the marina.

• Airports: Castellón (about 22 km, around 25 min), Valencia (about 123 km, approx. 1 h 30 min), Reus (about 145 km) and Barcelona (about 230 km).
• Train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away, with trains to Valencia and Barcelona.
