The Entreplayas apartments in Alcossebre owe their name to their position: they are right between two beaches, Romana and Cargador, on the front row. On the portals they also appear as Entre Playas or Entreplayas Altamar. This page is an independent reference with the location, features and published reviews of the complex; it is not its official website and we do not handle bookings there.
Where Residencial Entreplayas is
Residencial Entreplayas is in the south of Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón), on the front row between Romana beach and Cargador beach. On OpenStreetMap it appears under the name "Entre Playas". Guests highlight that it is very close to the sand and in a quiet area.
The two beaches on either side:
- Cargador beach (Carregador): the town's main one, with about 850 m of fine sand, fully accessible and with a Blue Flag every year since 1987. It has a dune system with a sea daffodil colony, a sailing club, paddle surf rental and a seafront promenade.
- Romana beach: about 500 m of fine sand, accessible and with a Blue Flag in 2026.
Both are linked by the Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway that runs along that stretch of coast and lets you walk to the centre.
In the area's favour: two Blue Flag beaches a step away, peace and quiet and a seafront promenade to the centre. Against: the marina and Las Fuentes beach, in the north, are too far to walk; and in the area itself there are fewer shops and restaurants than in the centre.
What Residencial Entreplayas is like
Entreplayas is a seafront apartment complex. According to the listings and portal reviews, it offers:
- A hydromassage pool.
- Free parking.
- Apartments with a kitchen, some suitable for families.
- Glazed balconies in some of the units, which according to some guests offer little privacy.
Guests describe the apartments as clean and well laid out. It is mainly marketed by Lloguers Altamar, and Albert Villas also has units in the complex. As in other complexes with several operators, conditions (pets, deposit, check-in times) may vary: confirm them with whoever you rent from.

Entreplayas has few reviews, and this should be borne in mind when interpreting its good average score:
- On Booking.com (8.6 out of 10, 9 reviews), most ratings are score only, with no text.
- Google (4.3 out of 5, 16 reviews) is a holiday rental listing for one type, the two-bedroom apartment, which aggregates reviews from travel websites.
- Central de Reservas (9.0 out of 10) has only 3 reviews, old ones (2013-2015).
- There is no listing on TripAdvisor, Expedia or Atrápalo.
There is also a possible mix-up with a nearby building: the Irta Playa (Altamar) apartments have their own listings on Central de Reservas and Google with similar scores, but they seem to be a different building and have not been added here. What is most appreciated. On Booking, location scores 9.0, staff 8.5 and value for money 8.0. On Central de Reservas, the sub-scores range from 8.3 to 9.3. Guests highlight:
- Being very close to the beach, on the front row between Romana and Cargador.

- Clean, well-laid-out apartments.
- Resolute service from the agency, even for out-of-hours arrivals.
- The hydromassage pool and the free parking.
What is criticised. The lowest sub-scores on Booking are facilities (7.1), cleanliness (7.6) and comfort (7.6). Some guests point out:
- Maintenance of the shared facilities that could be better.
- Glazed balconies with little privacy.
The criticisms are few and specific, which is consistent with the small number of reviews. The guest profile is families and groups, mostly Spanish.

Entreplayas, Sol y Mar and Cala González share an almost identical setting. With so few reviews in some cases, the most useful thing is to look at the specific services (parking, lift, pool) and at each apartment's operator.
What to ask before booking at Entreplayas
With few published reviews, it is worth settling some questions directly with the operator:
- Who manages the apartment? Lloguers Altamar and Albert Villas have different listings; their conditions may vary.
- Does it have an assigned parking space? Free parking is one of the strengths; confirm that it is included in your booking.
- What is the balcony like? If privacy on the terrace matters to you, ask whether your unit has a glazed balcony.
- What time are the keys handed over? Guests value the agency's flexibility with late arrivals, but it is best to give notice in good time.
- What is the pool season? If you travel outside summer, confirm that it will be open.
When to go to Entreplayas
The climate of the Castellón coast lets you enjoy a front-row apartment for much of the year. According to the AEMET normals for the Castelló-Almassora station, the nearest with published data, the summer average is around 24.5 °C, with highs of about 29-30 °C, and the sea is around 25 °C in high summer. In spring and autumn the averages are about 16 and 19 °C, with more than 2,700 hours of sunshine a year.
- July and August: both beaches with all services and the promenade at its liveliest.
- June and September: good weather for the beach and a quieter setting.
- Spring and autumn: ideal for combining the beach with routes in the Serra d'Irta.
What to do near Residencial Entreplayas
- Beaches on foot: Cargador and Romana on either side; further south, El Moro (300 m of fine sand between rocks, with lifeguards) and Tres Platges.
- Seafront promenade and centre: along the Senda Litoral to the promenade, with restaurants and shops, and a weekly market from May to October.
- Water sports: paddle surf at Cargador; at Las Fuentes marina, a sailing school and trips to the Columbretes Islands.
- Serra d'Irta Natural Park: declared in 2002, it protects about 12 km of unspoilt coast as far as Peñíscola. From Cala Blanca and the lighthouse, north of the town, start walking route 2 (12.8 km, low difficulty) and the Ruta del Cranc cycling route (13.2 km). In summer, car access to the park's coast requires booking a space on the GVA Parcs Naturals app.
- Inland: Alcalà de Xivert, about 9 km away, and the Xivert castle, of Muslim origin, reached by the park's route 3.
How to get to Residencial Entreplayas
- By car: AP-7, exit 44 (Alcossebre-Torreblanca), or N-340 and CV-142 to Alcossebre; in town, head towards the south of Cargador. More details in how to drive to Alcocéber.
- By train: Alcalà de Xivert station, about 10 km away, with Media Distancia trains.
- By plane: Castellón (about 22 km), Valencia (about 123 km), Reus (about 145 km) and Barcelona-El Prat (about 230 km).
