Where the Fuentemar apartments are
Fuentemar is in the Las Fuentes area, north of the centre of Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón). Guests put Las Fuentes beach and the restaurants about 5 minutes on foot away. One of the Atrápalo listings says the building is on Plaza Tanduay.

Las Fuentes beach (Les Fonts) is an urban beach of fine sand about 400 metres long, next to the marina. Freshwater springs rise from the sand, coming from an ancient aquifer, and in season it has lifeguards, toilets, showers, ramps, a children's area and equipment hire.
Advantages of the area: it is a quiet area, as guests highlight, with restaurants and services nearby and the marina a short stroll away.
Drawbacks: it is not on the front line, so you have to walk a few minutes to reach the sand.
What the Fuentemar complex is like
Fuentemar is a block of apartments with generous shared areas. According to the published reviews, the most striking thing about the complex is its outdoor facilities:
- Two large pools, with a lifeguard.
- Showers and toilets next to the pool area.
- A garden in the shared areas.
- Wifi.

The apartments have a kitchen and many have a terrace. Several guests highlight spacious terraces and fully equipped kitchens in some units. Others, by contrast, stayed in interior, small or mezzanine units without a balcony, so the experience depends quite a lot on the apartment. The building is described as a block with sea views, although not all units will have them: check the listing for each apartment.
Climate control is by fans: the apartments do not have air conditioning, something that appears in a good share of the summer reviews.

Public scores from each website, checked on octubre de 2026. They may have changed; see the source for the current score.
To interpret the table properly, it helps to know where each score comes from:
- Booking (6.7 from 29 reviews) corresponds to the Casa Azahar listing and is the most direct reference for its apartments.
- Atrápalo (7.3 from 17) corresponds to "Apartamento Fuente Mar Lloguers Altamar", that is, to another agency in the same building. There, location is the best-rated aspect, at 8.2.
- Central de Reservas (8.1 from 8) gathers old reviews, from 2009 to 2015, which reflect an earlier stage of the building.
Google only shows a listing called "Edificio Fuentemar II" with no reviews, and there is no TripAdvisor listing.

Our assessment of Fuentemar
Fuentemar offers very complete shared areas, with two supervised pools, and a quiet setting, but with uneven interiors and no air conditioning.
Strengths
- Two large pools with a lifeguard, showers and toilets.
- A quiet area about 5 minutes from Las Fuentes beach.
- Good service from the agency, according to reviews.
- Some units with a spacious terrace and a fully equipped kitchen.
Weaknesses
- No air conditioning: fans fall short in the height of summer for some guests.
- Big differences between units: some interior or without a balcony.
- Comfort (beds, sofa bed) could be better.
Who it is ideal for
- Families with children who put a supervised pool first.
- Couples and solo travellers looking for peace and quiet near the beach.
- Stays in June, September or autumn, when the heat is not a problem.
Less recommended for anyone who needs air conditioning in July and August. No Casa Azahar building, Fuentemar included, accepts pets.

Fuentemar compared with other Las Fuentes complexes
If you are comparing options in the same area, this table sums up what the listings and reviews say about five Las Fuentes complexes that have a page in this directory:
| Complex | Distance to the beach | Pool | Air conditioning | Average portal score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fuentemar | About 5 minutes on foot | Two, with a lifeguard | No, fans | 7.1 (54 reviews) |
| Marino | Direct access to the promenade | Adult and children's | Depends on the unit | 8.0 (191) |
| Fontana Real | Direct access to the beach | Yes | Yes | 8.5 (28) |
| Arcos I | About 185 m | Adult and children's | In many units, living room only | 6.9 (99) |
| Tres Carabelas | Next to the beach, facing the sea | Yes | No, ceiling fans | 8.2 (34) |
The practical conclusion is simple: Fuentemar competes on its pools and its quiet, while Marino and Fontana Real win on closeness to the sea and, in Fontana Real's case, on climate control. If a supervised pool weighs most in your decision, Fuentemar is a good candidate; if air conditioning does, look at other options.
Tips before booking at Fuentemar
- Ask about the unit's orientation: whether it is exterior, whether it has a balcony or terrace and which floor it is on.
- Confirm what the booking includes (towels, bed linen) to avoid surprises on arrival.
- Bring pegs or a small clothes airer if you plan to wash beach towels, because several guests missed having somewhere to hang them.
- Check the arrival time and how keys are collected so check-in is smooth.
- If you travel in summer and feel the heat, consider the air-conditioned alternatives in the area, such as Fontana Real.
When to go to Fuentemar
The pools are Fuentemar's big attraction, so its best time is the swimming season. In June and September the weather is kind, the sea is warm and the Las Fuentes area is quieter than in August. In July and August average maximum temperatures are around 29-30 °C, according to the reference climate data: that is when the lack of air conditioning is most noticeable.
In spring and autumn, with averages of 16 to 19 °C, the building is comfortable and it is a good time to combine the beach with hiking in the Serra d'Irta. If you are interested in a long stay, see our guide to weekly and fortnightly rentals in Alcocéber.
