The Kione Anamar apartments in Alcossebre, also known as the Anamar residence or Ana Mar, are one of the options with the most reviews in the Romana beach area. This page is an independent reference that sums up its location, what the residence is like and what guests say on Booking.com, Google, TripAdvisor and Central de Reservas. It is not the official website of the residence or its operator, and we do not handle bookings there.
Where the Anamar residence is
The Anamar residence is in the Romana beach area, south of the centre of Alcossebre (Alcalà de Xivert, Castellón), about 50 m from the beach. On OpenStreetMap maps it appears as "Residencial Ana Mar".

Romana beach is about 500 m long and 40 m wide, with fine sand, accessible, and has a Blue Flag in 2026. To the north, the Senda Litoral, a wooden walkway by the sea, links Romana with Cargador beach and the town centre; to the south are El Moro beach and Tres Platges.
Pros and cons of the location:
- In favour: a wide, accessible beach a step away; a quiet residential area; a walk to the centre along the Senda Litoral.
- Against: to go to the marina or Las Fuentes beach, in the north of the town, you need the car; the choice of restaurants and shops on foot is smaller than at Cargador.
What Kione Anamar is like

Kione Anamar has 876 reviews, the vast majority on Booking.com (7.7 out of 10, 698 reviews) and on Google (3.8 out of 5, 176 reviews). TripAdvisor and Central de Reservas have only one review each (the Central de Reservas one is from 2020), so their weight in the average is minimal. Expedia has a listing for the complex, but shows no score.
The words that come up most in the Google reviews give a clear hint of where the comments go: beach, air conditioning, heat and fans.
What is most valued. On Booking, location gets 9.3 and staff 8.6. Guests highlight:
- The location next to Romana beach.
- Clean, well-equipped apartments.
- The included covered parking.
- That it accepts pets and hands out a small welcome kit for them.
- The small pools next to the apartments and a quiet setting.
- How quickly you can switch apartment when a problem arises.
What is criticised. The sub-scores for comfort (7.4), facilities (7.5) and value for money (7.5) are the lowest. Some guests point out:
- A lot of heat in the duplexes in summer: air conditioning is only in the living room and the upper floor, where you sleep, has only a fan. It is the most repeated complaint.
- Water leaks in the garage when it rains.
- Soft beds and mattresses that need renovating.
- Small upstairs bathrooms and bathtubs that are not very comfortable for older people.
- Little privacy on the terraces.
- Differences between what was advertised and what was charged for things such as the pet surcharge or the price of breakfast.
The guest profile combines families, couples and travellers with a pet, mostly Spanish.
Booking.com sub-scores
| Aspect | Score |
|---|---|
| Location | 9.3 |
| Staff | 8.6 |
| Cleanliness | 7.8 |
| Value for money | 7.5 |
| Facilities | 7.5 |
| Wifi | 7.5 |
| Comfort | 7.4 |
The reading is consistent with the comments: where it is and how guests are looked after are highly valued, and what could be improved is the comfort of the duplexes, mainly because of the climate control upstairs.
Our assessment of Kione Anamar
Strengths
- About 50 m from an accessible, Blue Flag beach.
- Covered parking included.
- Accepts pets, with treatment of animals that guests appreciate.
- A large volume of reviews, with a stable score for location and staff.
Weaknesses
- Heat on the upper floor of the duplexes in the height of summer, according to many reviews.
- Maintenance that could be better in the garage and in beds and mattresses.
- Two-storey duplexes with small bathrooms upstairs, not very comfortable for older people.
- Terraces with little privacy.
Who it is ideal for. For families and couples travelling with a dog who want the beach a step away, and for anyone who values having the car under cover. If you are travelling in July or August and are sensitive to heat, or if you are accompanied by older people who struggle with stairs, it is worth asking first about climate control and the layout of the accommodation.
Before booking at Kione Anamar
- Ask about the bedrooms' climate control. It is what most affects the experience in summer.
- Confirm surcharges in writing (pet, breakfast) and their price.
- If you are travelling with older people, ask for information about stairs and bathrooms.
- Bring what your pet needs and check the residence's rules; the signposted dog beach area is at Serradal (L'Estany).
